COVID

China will downgrade the management of Covid from the highest level to the second highest from Jan 8, according to a statement from the National Health Commission Monday. Besides, China will no longer subject inbound travelers to quarantine, though they will be required to obtain negative Covid test results within 48 hours of departure.

 

Industrial Economy

*CAICT: domestic mobile phone shipment in Oct of 24.36mio units, down 27.5% y/y and 5G mobile phones account for 19.52mio units by around 80.1%, down 26.6% y/y.

*National Energy Administration issued notice of administrative method on development and construction of PV power stations which encouraged transformation and upgrade of power stations with applications of advanced and efficient technique/equipments.

*National Energy Group announced joint start-up of 10 key power projects in total investment of cny 55bn with investment of hydropower and new energy contribute over 50%.

*Tesla has realized full coverage of power charge network in China with 15-min charging circle built up in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai, as pointed out by its vice president.

Commodities (night session):

* Crude oil price closed up. INE crude oil active contract up 0.36% to closed at 560.3 yuan/b.

* Precious metals closed up collectively. SHFE gold active contract up 0.02% to closed at 407.5 yuan/gram. SHFE silver active contract up 0.51% to closed at 5337 yuan/kilogram.

* Metals closed up mostly. Bonded copper up 1.04%, SHFE aluminum up 0.86%, SHFE copper and SHFE zinc up 0.64%, SHFE lead up 0.47%. SHFE tin down 0.45% on the contrast.

* Commodity futures closed up collectively. Energy & chemistry futures saw strong performance, glass up 2.29%, MEG up 2.17%, TSR 20 up 1.74%, PVC up 1.69%, low sulfur fuel oil up 1.57%. LPG, urea and bitumen up over 1%. Black series closed up collectively, coke and coking coal up over 1%. Agricultural products closed up collectively, RBD palm olein up over 2%, soybean oil up nearly 2%, No.2 soybeans, rapeseed oil, cotton, soybean meal, rapeseed meal and cotton yarn up over 1%.
